Having roots in New Jersey, The Smithereens were initially influenced by British invasion pop. With several songs high on the Billboard charts (A Girl Like You, Only A Memory, Blood & Roses, among others) the group placed their stamp on album driven rock radio and earned a national reputation as a great concert attraction with sizzling pop and rock songs.

The Dizzy Gillespie All-Stars include musical colleagues and disciples of the iconic Jazz legend.
Featured in this concert will be Grammy nominee Claudio Roditi on trumpet, the incomparable Cyrus Chestnut on piano, and Dizzy's long time bassist, John Lee. Many of the arrangements played by this stellar group were written by Dizzy himself.
