ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY is
one of the most widely acclaimed singer/songwriters working in
pop and jazz today and is considered by many to be the finest cabaret
artist in the business. The New York Times writes: "For
sheer vocal beauty, no contemporary singer matches Ms. Callaway." And
the Chicago Tribune describes her as "the best equipped
jazz vocalist swinging today." Ann won a Theatre World Award
and a Tony nomination for her work in the Broadway musical hit, Swing.
And her voice is known to millions worldwide through her singing
of the theme song for the CBS television comedy hit, The
Nanny. Several
of Ms. Callaway's compositions have been recorded by Barbra Streisand,
who happens to be one of Ann's biggest fans. In fact, Ann's song,
I've Dreamed of You, was sung by Streisand to James Brolin at their
wedding and was subsequently included on three of Streisand's recent
CD's. Ms.
Callaway is a prolific recording artist in her own right who has
sung on over 40 albums. As one of the leading interpreters of the
American Song Book, she was honored to be the first person granted
permission by Cole Porter's estate to write music for a previously
unrecorded Porter lyric, "I Gaze In Your Eyes." Ann's
newest CD, Slow, was released last fall and has garnered much critical
and popular success.
This is a special
